I headed out to Gelson’s to ride with the Old Kranks. I skipped the warm up and arrived at the meet up at 8:30. There was only one other person there – Bryan. He is a graduate of UCLA, so we had something in common. We waited awhile, but no one else showed up, so we ventured out on our own to Hidden Valley. Bryan took the lead and was happy to follow, since I didn’t know where I was going. Bryan is fast, but I was able to keep up. There was a steep trial near Sherwood Lake, but I made it up.
We rode to the fire station, took a brief break and then headed out to Hidden Valley. As we were riding a felt a sense of déjà vu. And then I remembered that I had been there before on a shoot as a studio teacher. Most of the ride was straight and level and the temperature was cool. We rode quite a distance and then came to a hill. Bryan decided that we could take a path to the left that was flat, so we rode for another mile or so and then turned around and headed back. The temperature was starting to rise, so it was good to head back. We ended up clocking a little over 17 miles, so a little over 34 miles for the week.
