I met up with the Old Kranks in Camarillo. It was a good ride. I rode with Sam, Barbara, Daniel, Mike, and Allen. We rode from Camarillo to PCH and then we rode down the coast to Neptune’s Net. They were a pretty fast group, but I kept up with them.

Once we got to Neptune’s Net, I got the chance to talk with Barbara. She asked if I had done the CCC, probably because of my shirt. I told her I hadn’t and then she mentioned that she knew they were not going to have the CCC because they would not be able to get the permits due to Covid. I found out this week in an email that the CCC would not happen from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We will be riding on our own. I was a bit disappointed to say the least.

I thought we were going to have a bite to eat, but these guys are hard core. We stopped for maybe 10-15 minutes and then we headed back up the coast. Mike was the feather tail on this one and he noticed that I wasn’t doing too good with shifting. He gave me a couple of tips on shifting, but I still don’t know what I am doing, but I am sure it will come to me soon. I know that once I get better at shifting, I will be a better cyclist.

We rode back through Camarillo and then to our cars. Sam gave me a jacket from Amgen to go with all my other jerseys. I sure have met up with a really nice group of people.

I rode a distance of 36.38 miles with an elevation of 628.
