In this workshop we will examine the history, symbolism, messages and mysteries of the Chartres labyrinth. We will identify the three stages of the labyrinth: Purification, Illumination, and Unification - and their relationship to Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces and the art of storytelling. In addition we will we will look at the many ways one can incorporate the labyrinth into their life to reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, and to aid in mental, physical and emotional healing. The labyrinth is also an excellent meditation tool. Participants will receive their own finger labyrinth for their own personal use. [...]

Welcome to Notre Dame High School (Orientation Class)

Notre Dame High School 13645 Riverside Drive, Sherman Oaks, CA, United States

This class will introduce students to the history of Notre Dame High School and the Holy Cross tradition. Students will identify the signs and symbols of the Spanish style-architecture of the Notre Dame campus along with those benefactors who have contributed to its development. Students will also learn about the current courses, programs, clubs, and opportunities that are offered at Notre Dame High School. Outdoor activities, art projects, and movies that capture and express the spirit of Notre Dame High School will also be incorporated into the class. This orientation class is for middle school students and incoming freshman.
