After losing her job and sending resumes all over the country she received a call back from St. Labre Indian Mission School in Ashland, Montana. She packed her things in a U-Haul and headed for Big Sky Country. Filled with laughter and lows, Luella takes you to sweat lodge ceremonies, pow wows, healing ceremonies, and a look into the incredible classroom journey that produced an award-winning documentary.

Description: This holiday season enter into the true spirit of Christmas with A Christmas Candlelight Celebration. Holy Spirit Retreat Center along with Notre Dame High School’s Campus Ministry team and choir have collaborated in bringing you this very special event. We will follow the footsteps of Mary and Joseph with scenes from the Annunciation, Visitation, and the journey to Bethlehem. As we join the couple on their walk to Bethlehem, Christmas carols will be sung under the moonlit sky welcoming the child, Jesus. The shepherds in the field, the little drummer boy and the Magi will all be there too. Candles will be provided. Apple cider and gingerbread will be served in the dining room after the procession.

The 3 stages of the labyrinth; purification, illumination, and harmonization and their integration into everyday life are explained. Description: This one day retreat will begin with a talk on breaking old habits and old patterns of thinking. Connections between patterns of thinking and our family histories will be discussed. Attendees will participate in a smudging ceremony that will enable them to detach from the past and focus on the future. There will also be time for quiet reflection and silent meditation. In the afternoon participants will make tobacco pouches and medicine bundles to take with them. The day will end with a viewing the film, The Next 7 Generations.

Where do you stand on the death penalty?

Description: This workshop presents the moral, social and economic reasons why the death penalty should be abolished in the state of California. With the November election voters need to be fully informed Proposition 34 and the implications it has for the state. Passage of Proposition 34 will eliminate the death penalty in the state of California and replace it with life in prison without the possibility of parole.
