Open House at the Brewery

Today I went to the Arthritis Foundation Open House at the Karl Strauss Brewery in downtown Los Angeles. I was so impressed with the genuine warm welcome and the dedication of everyone there. The turnout was also very impressive. About sixty people joined together to learn about all the activities that the Arthritis Foundation sponsors. Shannon greeted me as soon as I entered. I didn’t even have to introduce myself; she intuitively knew who I was. I guess from our telephone conversation earlier in the week. An Unexpected Invitation

Today I called the Arthritis Foundation to inquire about the bike event from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I spoke with Shannon, the Development Director, and she was very informative. She also invited me to the Open House they were having on Sunday.

Speed and Ease

It was a beautiful day again today. I was feeling not quite so sore from the other day when I took that fall. I rode my bike over to Fallbrook. I took a couple of side streets, I am still getting used to my new bike. I don’t want to go over a pothole and then fall in front of a car and splatter all over the place. That would be awful. My First Crash

Today, I bought my new bike. I went back to Santa Monica Cyclery and sealed the deal. Roman made me feel very comfortable that I had made the right decision. There were many bikes to choose from, but I knew that I had picked the right one. I told Roman that I had won $1,000.00 and that was where I got the money to buy my new bike.
